MF Hardy is committed to protect the environment in all our activities, products and services. We recognise and believe in our responsibility to minimise the environmental impact of these, whilst delivering work to our clients’ satisfaction. This policy sets the direction and commitment of the company in our management of our environmental impacts and values by aiming to:

  • Comply with relevant environmental legislation, regulations and other requirements relating to our activities to which the Company subscribes.
  • Identify and assess the significant environmental aspects and impacts of our activities and provide commitment to reduce their potential environmental impacts including:
  • Protecting and improving the built and natural environments;
  • Preventing pollution;
  • Improving resource efficiency and reducing energy use;
  • Minimising and correctly managing waste;
  • Minimising statutory nuisance
  • Set and review environmental objectives and targets in order to measure our environmental performance using a “SMART” framework of recording and effectively communicating these.
  • Provide ongoing competence training and awareness to staff related to their potential to cause a significant environmental impact and that persons performing tasks on our behalf are competent to undertake such work.
  • Record, co-operate and respond to communications from interested parties including regulatory bodies, clients and the general public.
  • Seek continual improvement in environmental performance and environmental management activities, with financial commitment and physical resources provided for the Company to undertake this.

Senior management are responsible for implementing this policy and monitoring our environmental performance. This performance, including the effectiveness of this policy, will be monitored by senior management via periodic management review.

The maintenance and service of the environmental management system is the responsibility of Mr Paul Hardy, Managing Director. Deputies to this affect are Mr David Birnie, Works Manager and External Consultant Mr David Inman

This policy will be documented, implemented and maintained then communicated to all persons working on our behalf. It will be displayed at our head office, on our website and held on all sites. The policy will be reviewed annually via audit by a qualified and competent environmental management systems auditor. The policy will be formulated and implemented by the Board of Directors assisted, where required, by a suitably qualified and competent environmental management systems consultant.
